Designer of our MMiW logo, David Hillman studied at the London School of Printing before starting out as a design assistant on the Sunday Times Magazine. He went on to work as editor of the Sunday Times environment section, deputy editor of Nova magazine and in 1978 became a partner at international design company Pentagram, where he stayed for 29 years, working with clients such as The Tate, Phaidon Press, The New Statesman and the Times Educational Supplement. Perhaps his most widely recognised achievement was the redesign of The Guardian in 1989, for which he won an award.
